Impartiality is the foundation of trust
At OMI INTER CERT, we view impartiality as a fundamental principle of our activity and a key factor for trust in the certification process. All certification decisions are based solely on objective evidence gathered during the audit and are taken independently of commercial, financial or other external influences.

Our commitment
OMI INTER SERT is engaged in:
• ensure independence and impartiality in all certification activities;
• identify, analyze and manage potential conflicts of interest;
• ensure that certification decisions are taken by competent and independent persons;
• prevents any form of pressure or influence on the certification process;
• maintain transparency and trust in front of all stakeholders.

Conflict management of interest
As a certification body, we realize that there can be real or potential threats to impartiality. Therefore, OMI INTER CERT applies a systematic approach to identifying, assessing and managing the risks associated with:
• personal or financial interests;
• previous relationships between auditors and clients;
• consulting activities;
• familiarity or excessive closeness between the participants in the process;
• external pressure on the auditors or decision-makers.

Independence from consulting
To protect his impartiality, OMI INTER SERT:
• does not offer consulting on management systems;
• does not perform internal audits of certified clients;
• does not assign certification activities to consulting organizations;
• does not allow relationships that may pose a risk to the objectivity of certification decisions.

Commission to preserve impartiality
OMI INTER CERT maintains a Commission for the Preservation of Impartiality, which performs an independent advisory and supervisory function.
The Commission:
• address the risks to impartiality;
• assess the effectiveness of the measures taken;
• provide recommendations to the management;
• supports the maintenance of confidence in the activity of the certification body.

Declarations and Controls
All persons involved in the certification activities shall sign declarations for:
• impartiality;
• independence;
• lack of conflict of interest;
• confidentiality.
The competence, behaviour and independence of staff shall be continuously monitored and assessed within the management system of the OMI INTER CERT.
